Anthony Mantha also represented team Canada at the IIHF World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in 2014. He began his career as a senior professional player with the Detroit Red Wings in 2013.

Detroit Red Wings signed Mantha to a three-year contract on October 12, 2013. He began the 2014–15 season on the injured reserve list after fracturing his right tibia. Shortly, he was traded to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

He made his professional debut for the Grand Rapids Griffins on November 14, 2014, in a game against the Texas Stars. He returned to the Detroit Red Wings on March 14, 2016. He scored his first professional goal against Jussi Rynnäs. He recorded his first career hat-trick in a game against the Milwaukee Admirals on February 17, 2016. He still plays for Detroit Red Wings.
